Unexpected Discovery: a Prokofiev Premiere
On the eve of the premiere at the Royal Festival Hall given by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, international experts gather at Pushkin House to discuss the upcoming event: the new, unknown 1961 version of Sergei Prokofiev's oratorio Ivan the Terrible by Levon Atovmyan, the discovery of its manuscript and the story behind its creation.

Call for Sublime: From "Last Day of Pompeii" to Diaghilev's Ballets Russes
This lecture covers almost hundred years of Russian art: from its first masterpiece which rejoined provincial Russian school with European Romantic mainstream and was accepted as an important social event in Russia – Carl Briollov’s _The Last Day of Pompeii_ (1833) to the triumphal _Drang nach Westen_ of Russian Modernism – Serge Diaghilev’s _Russian Seasons_ (1910s)
