Art and Poetry: Russian Futurism between the Revolutions

A lecture by Dr. Nadia Morozova, the Director of Mayakovsky Museum in Moscow.

Language: English

Located in the building where Mayakovsky committed suicide in 1930 with the very same room preserved untouched, the Mayakovsky Museum keeps a vast and unique archive that includes books by Russian futurists, paintings by constructivists (El Lissitsky, Alexander Rodchenko, Kazimir Malevich, Gustav Klutsis) and manuscripts (including notebooks of Mayakovsky). Looking closely at books created by Russian futurists, Dr. Morozova discovers vibrant artistic atmosphere of the years between 1905 and 1917.
