Evening of 20th century Russian food, history and memory with celebrated food writer Anya Von Bremzen and author of the Man Booker shortlisted 'Snowdrops' A. D. Miller.

Anya Von Bremzen’sacclaimed new book Mastering the Art of Soviet Cooking: a Memoir of Food and Longing is a tragicomic memoir about food, family, memory and exile. It tells the tale of three generations surviving a tumultuous century and the central place food – or the lack of it – has in 20 th century history and family life. According to Heston Blumenthal it is ‘heartbreakingly poignant and laugh-out-loud funny’ .

Authentic tasty Russian recipes inspired by the book were prepared for the event by top chef, Tatiana Khassine of Zakuski, London,whose Russian food stall is a Broadway Market institution.
