The total runtime of the double bill is 2.5 hours.
Each performance lasts an hour, with a fifteen minute interval between.
The first half presents Tied to You - a new version of Semyon Zlotnikov's comedy classic A Man Came to a Woman.
With similar elements of farce and the surreal the play focuses on the unlikely pairing of Viktor - a nervous pharmacist, and Dina - a telephone operator who likes to speak her mind. Eager to impress one another, they romp through the night in a whirlwind of conversational gaffes, romance, and ridiculous misunderstanding. The result is an entire marriage's worth of highs and lows, rows and reunions, all within the space of a single night. Bond or bondage? Is marriage about getting settled down, or hopelessly tied up?
An interval, with wine and nibbles available, precedes The Imaginary Circus, combining a motley crew of characters - an itinerant ballad-singer, a master glass-blower and an acrobat's daughter all united in one mission. The play uses a suitably unconventional array of props, music, poetry and costume changes to tell the tale of a young Russian man who sets up a circus in order to save the local glass factory.
