Italy is the country where viticulture was introduced by the Greeks over 3000 years ago. From there the Romans took it and established classic wine regions all over Europe. Some of the world’s greatest wines are made here: Barolo, Amarone, Brunello di Montalcino and Super-Tuscans – to name just a few. And with more than 1000 grape varieties to choose from – where to begin? Let’s try some classic styles from Piedmont, Veneto, Tuscany and Sicily.
At least 6 wines from top producers will be tasted on the day. As usual there will be a quiz at the end and someone will go home with a prize.
