Lake Vostok. At the Mountains of Madness / Озеро Восток. Хребет безумия
Q&A with film director, Ekaterina Eremenko
Russia: 2017 (Duration: 90 min)
In 1974, scientists made the sensational discovery of Lake Vostok. A vast lake underneath the icy desert of Antarctica, untouched for 400.000 years. In 2012, after 40 years of drilling, a Russian scientist broke through the ice. This film explores the mythologies and legends surrounding Antarctica, from H.P. Lovecraft to James Cameron’s 'At the Mountains of Madness', which have lured many into their realm - many not left unscathed.
