The mission of Pushkin House is to serve as a home and dedicated showcase for Russian culture; a focus for formal and informal Anglo-Russian cultural exchange; a channel for cultural contacts in both directions; a provider of education and information on Russian language and culture; a resource and networking centre for individuals and institutions.

The principal objectives of the Centre are:

• to initiate programmes of events, both independently and in collaboration with other organisations
• to provide a lively, informal meeting-place for those interested in Russia and her culture
• to promote the teaching of Russian language and culture
• to provide support, and, where appropriate, facilities for Anglo-Russian cultural organisations
• to provide information on Russia through web-sites and databases
• to facilitate, coordinate and disseminate information about Russian cultural events in London and elsewhere in the UK
• to maintain and develop active contacts and collaboration with the widest possible range of cultural institutions and organisations in Russia
