Description
Pushkin House is excited to present our next event as part of the YOUNG programme, which supports its members to realise their ideas at Pushkin House. Eden Transcends Reality, the second edition of Ethereal Maison, is curated by YOUNG members Yaiza Hernández Escobar, Jessica Ingram and Clara Ada Mantegazza.

Ethereal Maison comprehends a house beyond the home, amplified by the use of third spaces of the metaverse. It delves into themes of the chosen family, migrant diasporas and psychological violence from the dysfunctional family, to entre-twine within worlds of fantasy, girlhood and childhood dreams.

On this second occasion, Ethereal Maison is presenting Eden Transcends Reality: a fantasy world for the audience and participants to discover within the cracking and leaking fluids of a much darker real world. The inner-child is fully immersed in the fantasy, enjoying it; but at the same time, the menacing real world comes lurking in slithering steps and fleeting shadow murmurs. In the past, Ethereal Maison was communicating in the real world, a real hidden house in Highbury and Islington, with a menacing back story and dark energy where we envisioned the fantasy realm developing for survival and leaking through the cracks of the walls. Now we are aiming for the audience and the art to be subjected in the fantasy and dream world, but what we question is: Is the dream world truly the way out of the dysfunctional, out of the oppressive? What happens when reality starts to force its way in?

The tickets are for the 2-hour workshop session only. To attend the exhibition any time in the afternoon between 1–4pm please register here.
