Description

Please note that this event is not suitable for our English speaking only audiences, as no translation from Russian will be provided on this occasion. As part of our efforts to cater for our varied audiences and bring in a diversity of voices, some of our events now take an intimate chamber format and are conducted in Russian only.

Libris with Liberov is a series of intimate, thought-provoking talks where literature becomes a living conversation. Guided entirely by Roma Liberov’s personal choices and passions, each evening opens a new door into the world of Russian authors.

In this talk, filmmaker and cultural visionary Roma Liberov invites us into the intimate landscape of a reader’s life through thirteen poems that have shaped, accompanied, and transformed him over the years. 13 Poems in My Life is not a lecture on poetry, but a personal journey through the texts that have become part of one person’s inner world.

Moving between memory, reflection, and reading, the evening will explore how poems live with us over time – how they return in moments of joy, doubt, loss, or discovery. Each poem opens a story: where it was first encountered, why it stayed, and how its meaning has continued to change through lived experience.

By sharing his own relationship with these works, Roma hopes to awaken in others the same sense of closeness and wonder – reminding us that sometimes the deepest way to discover a poem is through the love with which someone else carries it.
