Libris with Liberov is a series of intimate, thought-provoking talks where literature becomes a living conversation. Guided by Roma Liberov’s personal choices and passions, each evening opens a new door into the world of Russian authors.
This special evening at Pushkin House will be devoted to the lasting influence of Joseph Brodsky – a poet whose voice continues to resonate across generations.
Though Brodsky himself claimed he was unconcerned with his influence on future readers, his impact has been profound. As filmmaker and speaker Roma Liberov states, Brodsky has shaped not only literary traditions but also the inner lives of those who encountered his work. For Liberov, Brodsky was more than a poet – he was a guiding presence during formative years.
In 2010 Liberov made a film named 'Joseph Brodsky. Conversation with a heavenly being'. The upcoming talk will be another of Liberov's tributes to the poet, whose words have shaped lives, perspectives, and artistic paths. Through reflection, the evening invites the audience to reconsider Brodsky’s legacy and the quiet, powerful ways it continues to endure.
