This workshop invites participants to explore planting as a form of care, communication, and homemaking. Drawing on personal experiences of migration, memory, and belonging, participants will reflect on their relationships with plants, from houseplants to gardens, and consider how care for living things mirrors care for oneself and others. Through discussion, sharing, and practical activity, participants will plant seeds and seedlings to take home, creating living objects that continue to grow beyond the workshop.

By engaging with time, attention, and the cycles of nature, the workshop invites participants to think about what it means to root oneself in new environments and how growth can happen in the spaces between languages, cultures, and homes.

Lina Ivanova is a London based artist, originally from Bulgaria. Her practice is process-led and multidisciplinary, primarily including photography and sculpture. Lina constructs multi-media installations as a means of negotiating the notion of place. Often rooted in her experience of migration, Lina’s practice explores narratives of displacement, family, history, and heritage. Found objects, public and private archives, and industrial materials inform her exploration into the relationship between background, class and status. Having graduated with a BA in Photography (2015), she co-founded Revolv Collective (2017) and completed a Postgraduate Certificate of Education (2018).
